Effect of lack of cdk7 function in Drosophila oogenesis. Shown here is the pattern of nuclear staining with Hoechst 33258 of egg chambers from cdk7 mutants. Dmcdk7ts flies were transferred to the restrictive temperature <1 day before eclosion and ovaries were dissected 3 days following eclosion. Although some follicle cells are present, their number is too low to completely surround each egg chamber. (For details, see Larochelle et al., p. 370.)
