About the Cover

Cover Figure

COBRA expression in Arabidopsis roots. Shown here are immunolocalization assays with antibodies directed against COBRA (red) in root tissue sections. The background image is a longitudinal section through a wild-type root, illustrating the normal polar localization of COBRA to the longitudinal sides of cells in the root growth zone. Inset is a transverse section through a root that is overexpressing COBRA, where a more uniform pattern of COBRA expression is evident. COBRA encodes a putative GPI-anchored protein that is necessary for oriented cell expansion in roots. (For details, see Schindelman et al., p. 1115, and related paper by Baumberger et al., p. 1128.)
