About the Cover

Cover Figure

Localization of Sox10 in the central nervous system. Shown here is an immunofluorescence analysis of an adult brain section from a Sox10lacZ/+ mouse using antibodies directed against beta -galactosidase (green) and myelin basic protein (red). This mouse expresses beta -galactosidase in a pattern identical to endogenous Sox10. beta -Galactosidase is found in the somata (green) of oligodendrocytes and their processes (yellow) where it colocalizes with the myelin basic protein whose gene is under direct transcriptional control of Sox10. (For details, see Stolt et al., p. 165.)
