Nuclear lamins are involved in a variety of processes occurring within the nucleus. Shown here is an immunofluorescence analysis of BHK 21 cells using antibodies directed against lamin A (green) and nucleoli (red). Nuclear lamin A is found not only in the lamina (rim) of the nucleus, but it is also dispersed throughout the nucleus as foci embedded within a more diffuse network. (For details, see review by Goldman et al., p. 533.)
