About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover Down-regulation of p63 expression is required for the onset of terminal differentiation. Shown here is an immunofluorescence analysis of adult murine epidermis in which a p63 isoform containing a transactivation domain (Tap63) was expressed for 5 d. Antibodies against keratin K14 (red)and the terminal differentiation marker keratin Kl (green) were used. The induction of TAp63 expression results in a delayed onset of K1 expression, indicating that TAp63 expression prevents basal keratinocytes from committing to terminal differentiation. (For details, see Koster et al., p. 126.)
