Cover Cell proliferation in neuroepithelial rosette-like structures in the brain of Lgl1-knockout mice. Shown here is an immunofluorescence analysis of the developing brain of an Lgl1-null animal at embryonic day 12.5. Newly synthesized DNA was labeled by bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) 24 h before the analysis. Sections were stained with antibodies directed against BrdU (red) and Ki67 (green). Cells that re-enter cell cycle were labeled with both BrdU and Ki67 antibodies (yellow), while cells withdrawn from cell cycle were labelled by BrdU, but not by Ki67 antibodies (red).
