About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover In Saccharomyces cerevisiae mitochondria, aminoacylation of tRNA glutamine (tRNAGln) occurs through a novel mechanism involving import of both cytoplasmic tRNAGln (blue ribbon diagrams) and the glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase enzyme (multicolored ribbon diagrams). Shown as insets are immunofluorescence analyses of cox2-mutant yeast mitochondria (cox2amber), using antibodies directed against Cox2 (blue). Cox2 translation requires the mitochondrial import of suppressor tRNAGln (cox2amber + tRNAGlnamber). (For details, see Rinehart et al., p. 583.)
