Cover Drosophila Aurora-A kinase inhibits neuroblast self-renewal. Shown here in the background is a negative (inverted) confocal image of an aurora-A mutant brain, revealing excessive mitotic neuroblasts marked with Miranda (blue) and phosphorylated histone H3 (cyan). Shown in the foreground are drawings of wild-type (right) and aurora-A (left) late pupae, depicting the massive expansion of the mutant central brain (red) and ventral ganglia (green) that occurs in aurora-A mutants. The authors would like to thank Leah Deblander for the confocal image and Laurina Manning for the drawing. (For details, see Lee et al., p. 3464, and related paper by Wang et al., p. 3453.)
