About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover Endosomal trafficking of the Arabidopsis steroid receptor BRI1 is ligand independent, but enhances brassinosteroid signaling. Shown here is a circular arrangement of a time-lapse series of confocal images of root meristems expressing a BRI1-YFP fusion protein. The recordings were taken over an ~12-h period, starting with a peak signal intensity (top) following a heat-shock-induced expression spike. Using this technique, the in vivo half-life of BRI1 in root meristems was determined to be ~5 h. Inside is a photograph of a whole, wild-type Arabidopsis plant. (For details, see Geldner et al., p. 1598.)
